➝ eddie is a grandma's boy. he loves spending time with his abeula and was very sad when she moved to california when he was in middle school. they sent letters back and forth and she was his number one confidant. when he moved to los angeles, they continued to have a close relationship. ➝ although eddie can't cook many meals, he still sits with his abeula while she's cooking, and they talk about their day and how life is going at the moment. ➝ eddie was hesitant to bring up his son to the 118, not that he was afraid that they'd judge him for a kid since both hen and bobby had children, but because he didn't know if he'd fit in with the team yet, and didn't want christopher to become attached to people that might not stick around. ➝ this changed because of the earthquake, where he admitted he had a son and his mother wasn't in the picture. he was worried about his teammate's reactions to christopher's disability, but they didn't react towards it and instead said he was cute. buck spent the whole shift reassuring him that chris was fine, and drove eddie to pick him up. ➝ that's how christopher met buck. they got along instantly, and buck made no comment on christopher's disability, instead, engaging with him as if he were any other child. when buck introduced them to carla, eddie knew that inviting buck into his personal circle was the right choice. ➝ eddie considers the 118 as a family more than his own flesh and blood (aside from his abeula and pepa). he hardly talks to his little sisters since moving, and refuses to talk to his parents until they apologize for their actions at shannon's funeral. ➝ despite his failing marriage with shannon, eddie still brings up good memories of her for christopher's sake ➝ eddie's the oldest child, and with his father busy working, the role of the man of the house fell on his shoulders. his father told him at the age of 10 he had to be the man of the house

➝ buck never really saw the desire in having a pet growing up. between his sister being allergic to most cats and dogs, and his parents showing their lack of care towards their son, he didn't think it was fair to bring a pet into that environment.
